DID YOU KNOW? FACTS ABOUT CPE MONITOR

Did you know the following facts about CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)?

General Facts

  • CPE Monitor is an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit.
  • As an ACPE-accredited provider, Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) is required to report CPE credit using this tracking system.
  • CPE Monitor is available in the free, standard version that provides online access to their inventory of completed credits and will allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements. CPE Monitor Plus, an upgraded subscription service, also removes the manual steps of totaling CPE credits and cross-checking them against multiple state requirements, which is beneficial for individuals tracking more than one license in CPE Monitor.
  • With the standard CPE Monitor, ACPE-accredited educational activities can only be submitted to participant CPE Monitor records by accredited providers, such as MPA. However, individuals who upgrade to CPE Monitor Plus can independently upload non-ACPE accredited activities to their CPE Monitor record. Learn more about CPE Monitor Plus at https://nabp.pharmacy/cpe-monitor-service/plans/#cpe-monitor-plus.
  • Participants can obtain electronic statements of credit by accessing their CPE Monitor record. Due to the ease of printing statements of credit through CPE Monitor, participants who wish to keep paper statements for their files or get audited by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs should utilize this useful option.

Requirements for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

  • To receive CPE credit for any MPA activity, participants must register for CPE Monitor at dashboard.nabp.pharmacy/#/login, where a unique e-Profile identification number will be issued.
  • Your e-Profile identification number and date of birth (month and day only, in MMDD format) must be provided to MPA for every activity.
  • Participants should not confuse their licensure, NPI or certification numbers with their NABP e-Profile identification number.
  • CPE credit will be processed approximately three weeks after program evaluations and posttests has closed to participants, which will be two weeks following the event date.
  • ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit more than 60 days after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that participants complete program evaluations and posttests by the specified deadline.
