MSHP Affiliations
MSHP is a state affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. In addition, MSHP has four regional societies
The Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists is a state affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Visit the ASHP website for more information about state affiliates.
Delegates from Michigan to the ASHP House are determined through a nomination and election process. Delegates are elected to a two-year term. Terms are staggered such that two of the four positions are up for election each year. The Executive Vice President coordinates announcement and receipt of nominations. The slate of candidates is presented for discussion and approval to the MSHP Board of Directors at their November meeting. Ballots are distributed electronically in November or December to ASHP members in the State using contact information provided by ASHP. The Executive Vice President will convey names and contact information for the elected delegates to ASHP.
To submit your name to be considered as an ASHP delegate, contact Executive Vice President Ed Szandzik. Current Michigan delegates to the ASHP House are Jesse Hogue, Jessica Jones, Peggy Malovrh, and Steven Stout. For more information on the ASHP House of Delegates, please visit the ASHP website.
The MSHP Recognized Regional Societies are: Capital Area Pharmacists Association (CAPA), the Northern Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NMSHP), the Southeastern Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SMSHP) and the Western Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (WMSHP).
